In 2007 I was diagnosed with Carotid FMD.
7 – 50% of patients with extra- cranial cerebrovascular FMD have an associated intra- cranial aneurysm (Begelman SM, Olin JW. Fibromuscular dysplasia. Curr Opin Rheumatol 2000; 12:41 – 47.)I was fortunate enough to have a doctor familiar with Carotid FMD, and it was discovered I have 2 small aneurysms of my M1 branch.
